FOSDEM 2027
FOSDEM is a community-led gathering for free and open-source software, bringing developers and users into university lecture rooms rather than a conventional commercial exhibition. Its connection to hardware comes through the software that makes devices useful, maintainable and independent of a single vendor. Look for relevant sessions on operating systems, embedded development, graphics, networking and open infrastructure once the programme is released. The strongest stories often come from maintainers explaining practical limitations rather than companies announcing products. Attendance is free and does not require general registration, but room capacity can constrain access. Plan around specific talks and expect a busy, informal atmosphere.
